The detachable head is the whole decision

Every hot air brush pulls air through the bristles, and hair, lint and product migrate back onto the grill behind them. Airflow drops month by month; the tool compensates by running hotter for longer; the drying time you bought it for quietly disappears.

On a brush with a removable head that is a two-minute clean. On one without, it is permanent. People replace these brushes believing they wore out, when most of them simply clogged — cleaning and maintenance covers the routine.

The four-year warranty does not help here, because a tool getting gradually worse at its job through normal use is not a defect in material or workmanship. It is the failure mode warranties are written to exclude.

Four settings against none published

The Volumizer Plus publishes low, medium, high and a cool option. The cool setting is worth more than it sounds: hair sets as it cools, so a cool pass with the brush still under tension fixes the shape without a second hot pass.

Revlon publishes no heat-setting count for the Salon One-Step. That is a blank row rather than a claim there are none, but either way you cannot plan a routine around it, and you cannot check it against any temperature guidance.

Against that: four years is the longest published warranty of any brush in this registry, double T3’s two and four times L’ange’s one. For a tool at this price that is a genuinely strong row.

It is worth being fair about what that does and does not mean. A blank row is not a bad figure - it is an absent one, and plenty of people have bought these brushes and been happy. What it prevents is comparison: you cannot weigh a tool you have no weight for, and you cannot pack a tool with no published voltage.

If you already own the sealed-head version, the useful move is maintenance rather than replacement: brush the bristles out after every few uses and keep lint off the grill as best you can from the outside. It will not fully substitute for a head that comes off, but it slows the airflow loss that makes these tools feel finished before their warranty is.

Who should buy which

Buy the One-Step Volumizer Plus. Same brand, same warranty, a head you can clean and four published settings including cool. On published evidence there is no case for the other one.

Consider the T3 AireBrush One-Step instead if you want a published weight (16 oz) and a published cord length (8 ft) — T3 states plainly that no attachments are supplied, which beats leaving the row blank, though the warranty is half as long.
