T3 Featherweight StyleMax: What the Specs Say

Fifteen ways to run it, sixteen and a half ounces, a nine-foot cord, and one specification T3 simply will not print.

Updated September 2026 · Sawyer V.

T3 publishes five heat settings, three speed settings, 16.6 oz without the cord, a 9 ft professional cord, a ceramic surface, 125 V and a two-year warranty. It publishes no wattage and no attachment list. Fifteen combinations is the most granular control of any dryer we list.

The lightest corded dryer here

16.6 oz without the cord — 1.04 lb. That is the lowest published corded weight in our registry, against Dyson’s 1.8 lb for the Supersonic and Shark’s 1.65 lb for the SpeedStyle Pro. Only ghd’s flight+ travel dryer is lighter at a published 0.99 lb, and that figure includes its cord and nozzle.

Weight is a specification people skim and then feel every day. You hold a dryer at or above shoulder height with your elbow bent, often for fifteen minutes, and the difference between 1.04 lb and 1.8 lb is roughly twelve ounces of sustained load on one arm.

It matters most on long or dense hair, where the session is longest — which is the irony of this particular dryer, because the specification long-haired buyers most want is the one T3 does not publish.

Fifteen combinations, and why that is the reason to buy it

Five heat settings times three speed settings is fifteen distinct ways to run this dryer. Dyson publishes twelve plus a dedicated cold shot. Revlon publishes six. Shark and ghd publish no settings count at all for their dryers.

The value of granularity is specific and easy to state. Heat damage accumulates rather than crossing a threshold, so the useful question is not “is this setting safe” but “is there a step below the one I am on”. With three heat settings the answer is usually no. With five, there is nearly always somewhere lower that still dries the hair.

Separating heat from speed matters just as much. Fine hair often wants moderate warmth with decent airflow; a drying curl pattern wants the opposite. A dryer with a single combined dial cannot give you either.

The figure that is not there

What it costs to run for a year

T3 does not publish a wattage for this tool, so there is nothing honest to compute. The formula is watts ÷ 1,000 × hours a year × your rate per kWh; if you find a rating plate on the handle, 65 hours a year and 18.34 cents per kilowatt-hour will get you the rest of the way.

Rate: U.S. Energy Information Administration, Electric Power Monthly, Table 5.3 — average residential price, June 2026.

T3 publishes no wattage for this dryer. Not a range, not a peak. Two consequences follow, and the second is the one that should affect your shortlist.

First, there is no honest running cost to print, so the box above renders the formula instead of a number. Every other dryer here with a published wattage gets a dollar figure.

Second, and more usefully: wattage is the only published number that hints at drying capacity. Without it, the word “professional” in the product name is carrying the whole claim, and that word is unregulated — we took that apart on its own page. We are not saying this dryer is underpowered. We are saying nobody reading the spec sheet can tell.

The Featherweight against the AireLuxe

T3 sells two dryers and, on their own published figures, they are the same dryer half an ounce apart.

Half an ounce is about the weight of a tablespoon of water. If there is a price difference between the two on the day you look, the published specifications do not explain it, and the Featherweight is the lighter one. Full sheet on our AireLuxe review.

The nine-foot cord

Joint longest in our registry, shared with the AireLuxe and the ghd Helios, against Dyson’s 8.6 ft and Shark’s 8.0 ft. T3 describes it as a professional cord, which in salon usage implies it is built to survive being pulled.

Nine feet is a salon-floor length: it exists so a stylist can work around a chair with the socket behind them. At home it does something quieter and still useful — it lets you reach the back of your own head without the plug fighting you, and it means the socket does not have to be next to the mirror.

5 uses a week for 5 years is 1300 uses. Both figures are stated assumptions, not measurements — halve the life and every cost per use doubles. We publish the ladder rather than a worked example for one specific product because a price we typed into a sentence would be wrong within a week.

Who this is for

  • Anyone whose arm gets tired. Lightest corded dryer here, published.
  • Fine or previously over-dried hair. Five heat steps is the strongest reason to choose it, and it is why the T3 dryers turn up on the fine-hair page.
  • People who want to dial a tool in rather than get it done. Fifteen combinations rewards attention.

Who should skip it

  • Thick, dense hair on a time budget. No published wattage means no published capacity; the thick-hair page ranks on stated power instead.
  • Anyone who needs a diffuser confirmed. No attachment list published.
  • Travelers. 125 V, single voltage — and here is what that means abroad.

What we cannot tell you

We have not used this dryer. We do not know its wattage, what is in the box, or how loud it is — nobody in this category publishes decibels, which is a problem we took apart on the noise page. Every figure above is from T3’s own product page.

The tools on this page

Prices come from the live price layer. Where none is available the button says so rather than showing a number we cannot stand behind.

T3 Featherweight StyleMax professional hair dryer

Fifteen heat-and-speed combinations and the lightest published weight of the corded dryers here — but T3 does not publish a wattage figure at all.

T3 AireLuxe professional hair dryer

Effectively the Featherweight with half an ounce more mass; the same missing wattage figure, and the same 9-foot cord.

Dyson Supersonic hair dryer

1,600 W is less power than a drugstore dryer draws, and Dyson publishes that openly — the pitch is airflow and heat control, not wattage.

Questions people actually ask

How many watts is the T3 Featherweight StyleMax?

T3 does not publish a wattage for it. That absence is on their own product page, and it means the running cost cannot be computed and drying capacity cannot be compared with any dryer that does publish one.

Is the T3 Featherweight lighter than the Dyson Supersonic?

Yes, on published figures. T3 states 16.6 oz without the cord, which is 1.04 lb; Dyson states 1.8 lb for the Supersonic. That is the lightest corded dryer in our registry against the heaviest.

Featherweight StyleMax or AireLuxe?

Half an ounce separates them on T3's own numbers, with everything else identical. Buy whichever is cheaper on the day; the Featherweight is the lighter of the two.
