T3 Featherweight vs L'ange Axia: The Lightest Dryer Question
Both brands built their pitch on weight. Only one of them also tells you how hot the air is.
Updated September 2026 · Sawyer V.
The L’ange Axia publishes 0.7 lb without the cord and a 140–230°F air range; the T3 Featherweight StyleMax publishes 16.6 oz — about 1.04 lb — with five heat settings and three speeds. The Axia is lighter and cooler; the T3 is more adjustable.

L'ange Axia HaloRing vs T3 Featherweight StyleMax, as published
| Row | L'ange Axia | T3 Featherweight StyleMax |
|---|---|---|
| Wattage | 1,300 W | Not published |
| Heat settings | 4, with a stated 140-230°F range | 5 |
| Speed settings | 2 | 3 |
| Weight | 0.7 lb (317.5 g), cord not included | 16.6 oz, cord not included |
| Cord length | 6.6 ft | 9 ft |
| Attachments | Concentrator and magnetic wall mount | Not published |
| Voltage | 125 V | 125 V |
| Warranty | 1 year | 2 years |
Both exclude the cord from their weight, so this is one of the few weight comparisons here that is like for like.
0.7 lb against 1.04 lb
Unusually, this is a fair fight: both makers state the weight without the cord, so the roughly one-third-of-a-pound gap is real rather than an artifact of different measurement bases. The Axia is the lightest dryer in this registry, and the Featherweight is second among corded dryers.
A third of a pound is less dramatic than the gap between either of these and the Dyson Supersonic’s published 1.8 lb. If weight is the reason you are shopping, both of these deliver; the decision moves to the rows underneath.
The Axia publishes a temperature. Almost nobody does.
140–230°F across four settings, stated on the product page. That is the only form in which a heat figure can be checked against the damage literature rather than guessed from a setting count, and a 230°F ceiling sits well below the region where thermal work reports clear mechanical loss Evans and Park, Journal of Cosmetic Science.
T3 publishes five heat settings and three speeds — fifteen combinations, the most granular control in this registry — but not a single degree figure. More steps, less information about what any step does.
Power, cord and the small things
- Power: L’ange publishes 1,300 W. T3 publishes no wattage on any product, so the Featherweight cannot be costed or compared on power at all.
- Cord: T3 wins clearly — 9 ft against 6.6 ft. On a bathroom where the socket is not beside the mirror, that is felt daily.
- Attachments: L’ange publishes a concentrator and a magnetic wall mount; T3 publishes nothing. Neither publishes a diffuser.
- Warranty: T3 gives two years, L’ange one — the shortest term in this registry.
One of them has somewhere to live
L'ange publishes a magnetic wall mount in the box, with both adhesive and drilling hardware. T3 publishes no attachments at all for the Featherweight StyleMax.
That sounds like a small thing and is the difference between a tool that has a home and one that lives on a counter or in a drawer with its cord wrapped round it. Cord damage at the strain relief is the most common way a dryer dies, and wrapping a warm cord tightly is how it starts.
The wall mount also solves the cooling problem: a dryer hung in open air cools faster and more safely than one put away warm. If your bathroom has no counter, that single accessory may decide this comparison on its own - see how to store hair tools.
A last practical note on the cords. T3's 9 ft is among the longest dryer cords here and L'ange's 6.6 ft is the shortest, and that gap is larger than the weight difference in daily use. If your socket is behind a door or below a counter, the lighter tool can still be the more annoying one - measure the distance from your socket to your mirror before deciding on grams.
Who should buy which
Buy the L’ange Axia if your hair is fine, colored or previously damaged and you want a stated, genuinely low air temperature; if weight is the single deciding factor; or if a wall mount solves your storage problem.
Buy the T3 Featherweight StyleMax if you want the most adjustable dryer here, if you need the 9 ft cord, or if a two-year warranty against one year settles it.
Buy neither if you travel: both publish 125 V. The ghd Flight+ is the light dryer that also crosses the Atlantic, at 0.99 lb including its cord and nozzle.
Neither ships a diffuser, so if you have a curl pattern budget for one or choose a different dryer — see diffusers.

L'ange Axia HaloRing Hair Dryer
0.7 lb without the cord makes this the lightest dryer in the registry, and 140–230°F is a published temperature range almost nobody in the category gives you.

T3 Featherweight StyleMax professional hair dryer
Fifteen heat-and-speed combinations and the lightest published weight of the corded dryers here — but T3 does not publish a wattage figure at all.

ghd flight+ travel hair dryer
The only dual-voltage dryer in this registry, at a published 0.99 lb with the cord on — the one dryer that genuinely travels.
Questions people actually ask
Which is lighter, the L'ange Axia or the T3 Featherweight?
The Axia. L'ange publishes 0.7 lb and T3 publishes 16.6 oz, about 1.04 lb, and both exclude the cord - so this is a like-for-like comparison rather than an artifact of measurement.
How hot does each one get?
L'ange publishes an air range of 140 to 230 degrees Fahrenheit across four settings. T3 publishes five heat settings without stating any temperature, so there is no figure to compare.
Do either of them travel?
No. Both publish 125 V and are North American only. The ghd Flight+ publishes dual voltage at 0.99 lb if a light dryer needs to travel.
Which is better for fine hair?
The Axia, on published evidence, because it states a low air temperature range and is the lighter of the two. The T3's extra heat and speed steps are the counter-argument if you want finer control.
